Wash Bay Screens
Wash Bay Screens & Curtains
Our premium wash bay screens and curtains are designed to provide an efficient, durable, and cost-effective solution for separating and protecting areas within industrial and commercial wash bay environments. Engineered to withstand the rigors of high-pressure washing, chemical exposure, and heavy use, these curtains are ideal for automotive repair shops, car wash facilities, manufacturing plants, and other industries requiring controlled cleaning zones. Available in a variety of layouts, materials, and customizable options, our wash bay screens and curtains help maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Layouts
Our wash bay screens and curtains are highly customizable to suit your facility’s specific needs. Below are the common configurations available:
- Single-Sided Curtains: Ideal for creating a single barrier along one side of a wash bay, these curtains are perfect for separating a washing area from adjacent workspaces. They are commonly used to contain overspray and prevent water or debris from spreading to other areas.
- Double-Sided Curtains: These form an L-shaped enclosure, providing containment on two sides. This layout is suitable for corner installations or when partial enclosure is needed to protect nearby equipment or personnel.
- Triple-Sided Curtains: Creating a U-shaped enclosure, triple-sided curtains offer enhanced containment for wash bays, ensuring water, chemicals, and debris are confined to a specific area. This layout is excellent for high-traffic wash zones.
- Four-Sided Curtains: Fully enclosing a wash bay, this configuration provides maximum containment for vehicles or equipment. Four-sided curtains are ideal for creating dedicated wash cells, ensuring complete isolation from surrounding areas.
- Multiple Straight Curtains: These can be connected to form long, continuous walls, perfect for dividing large open spaces or creating extended wash zones. They are highly flexible and can be reconfigured as needed.
- Portable Curtain Systems: Designed for facilities requiring temporary or movable solutions, portable wash bay screens can be set up and reconfigured quickly. They are ideal for tight spaces or facilities with changing layouts.
- Custom Layouts: For unique requirements, we offer bespoke designs tailored to your facility’s dimensions and workflow. Simply provide a sketch or specifications, and we’ll fabricate a solution to meet your exact needs.
Each layout can be mounted on a track system for easy opening and closing or used with freestanding frames for portable setups. Curtains can also be customized to accommodate sloped roofs or irregular spaces with triangular panels or valances.
Materials
Our wash bay screens and curtains are crafted from high-quality, industrial-grade materials designed to withstand harsh wash bay environments. Key materials include:
Coated Vinyl
A durable, waterproof, and chemical-resistant material used for top and bottom panels or entire opaque curtains. This material is ideal for rugged use in automotive and industrial settings.
1mm Clear PVC
Used for vision panels or fully transparent curtains, this material allows natural light and visibility for safety while maintaining containment. Clear PVC is perfect for areas where supervision or light transmission is essential.
All materials are tear-resistant, mold-resistant, and designed for easy cleaning. Hems are reinforced with double-lock stitching or RF-welded seams for added durability, and outer edges are sewn with heavy-duty nylon thread.
Additional Features
To enhance functionality, our wash bay screens and curtains come with a variety of optional features:
- Velcro Attachments: 50mm Velcro strips on curtain sides enable easy connection of multiple panels or attachment to walls, ensuring a tight seal against splashes.
- Pipe-Weighted Hems: Heavy-duty galvanized pipe in the bottom pocket stabilize curtains against drafts or high-pressure washing.
- Floor Mount D-Rings: Straps and buckles anchor curtains to the floor, providing stability in windy or high-traffic environments.
- Strip Doors: Sewn-in strip doors allow easy access for personnel or light foot traffic, while freestanding steel frame strip doors or swinging doors accommodate motorized traffic.
- Valances: Made from the same material as the main curtain, valances seal gaps above the curtain, particularly for sloped roofs or high mounting points.
Mounting Options
Our wash bay curtains are designed for easy installation and flexibility. Common mounting systems include:
- Roller Track Systems: Made from anodised aluminium, these allow curtains to retract quickly when not in use. Tracks can be mounted to beams, trusses, or walls using C-clamps, threaded rods, or S-hooks.
- Aluminium Angle Mounts: Used with self-tapping screws to pinch curtains to fixed structures.
- Roller Pipe Track System: Made from Galvanised or stainless steel, these allow curtains to retract quickly when not in use. Tracks can be mounted to beams, trusses, or walls using C-clamps, threaded rods, or S-hooks
- Portable Frames: Modular, freestanding frames with joint connectors allow for quick setup and reconfiguration without permanent fixtures.
Tracks can be cut to size on-site, and mounting hardware is spaced every 1-2m, depending on curtain height and weight.
Advantages
Wash bay screens and curtains offer numerous benefits over traditional fixed walls or rigid dividers, making them a preferred choice for industrial and commercial facilities:
Cost-Effective
Curtains cost approximately 10% of permanent brick-and-mortar walls, saving on both material and installation costs.
Easy Installation and Reconfiguration
Unlike fixed walls, curtains can be installed quickly using track systems or portable frames and reconfigured as needed without costly renovations.
Containment of Water and Debris
Curtains effectively contain water, chemicals, mud, and overspray, preventing damage to surrounding areas and reducing cleanup time.
Enhanced Safety
By containing hazardous materials and preventing wet floors, curtains reduce the risk of slips, trips, and exposure to chemicals. Clear vision panels maintain visibility for worker safety.
Flexibility
Curtains can be opened, closed, or moved to accommodate different equipment, vehicles, or workflow changes, offering unmatched adaptability.
Durability and Low Maintenance
Made from tear-resistant, water-resistant, and chemical-resistant materials, curtains are built to last and require minimal upkeep. They can be easily cleaned with water and mild detergents.
Temperature and Noise Control
Curtains help maintain different temperature zones within a facility, reducing energy costs. They also dampen noise from washing activities, improving worker comfort and productivity.
Aesthetic Customization
Available in various colours and with optional branding (e.g., company logos), curtains enhance the professional appearance of your facility.
Environmental Compliance
Curtains help funnel hazardous waste to designated disposal areas, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Improved Workflow
By creating organized, dedicated wash zones, curtains streamline operations and prevent cross-contamination between work areas.
Applications
Our wash bay screens and curtains are versatile and suitable for a wide range of industries, including:
- Automotive Repair and Car Wash Facilities: Contain water, soap, and grime during vehicle cleaning and detailing.
- Manufacturing and Industrial Plants: Protect sensitive equipment from water, dust, or chemical overspray during cleaning processes.
- Food Processing Facilities: The Curtains ensure hygiene and containment in wash-down areas.
- Mining and Heavy Equipment Maintenance: Enclose wash bays for large machinery, controlling debris and runoff.
